In addition, participants will have the opportunity to learn, through reading and discussing a KP business case study, how our Labor Management Partnership can dramatically improve Kaiser Permanente's business performance.
Root Learning Maps (MAPS) provides education for all employees and physicians about the business of Kaiser Permanente as one of the foundations of the Partnership.
(UPRT) Union Partnership Representative Training
Union Partnership Representative Training (UPRT) is a one day training that assists Union members to understand Partnership activities as well as to effectively represent and advance Union members' interests through the Partnership. UPRT is delivered by Union trainers who have completed and intensive UPRT Train-the-Trainer Course. Developed by the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions, AFL-CIO, the UPRT program is offered through the Office of Labor Management Partnership. Participants move through a series of highly interactive exercises including case studies, small group discussions and role-plays. (IBPS) Interest-Based Problem Solving/ (CDM) Consensus Decision-Making/ (IR) Issue Resolution
Interest-Based Problem Solving (IBPS) offers Labor Management partners a method to solve problems using a non-adversarial process. This training program familiarizes participants with the four-step IBPS process. Topics include:

Determing the Best Solution using Criteria

Application of the IBPS Principles in the Issue Resolution Process
Consensus Decision-Making (CDM) is one of the basic decision-making process in the Labor Management Partnership. Through the use of discussion and practice exercises, this training introduces the basic concept of CDM, including its definition, benefits and process.
The Issue Resolution (IR) process utilizes IBPS principles and provides an opportunity to practice the process in a workplace problem-solving simulation.
